There is no doubt that the Veterans of our country do so much to help protect us and keep us safe from intruders. The least that we can do for those who fight for our country is make sure that they do not have to pay for their educations. They have the most dedicated and honest job in the entire world, and when they come home they may want to further their education to assist them in the workforce. There are many opportunities for our veterans to attend college and just as many options for them to not have to pay. Scholarship and financial aid opportunities for our veterans are endless.
One great bonus to being in the military is that your education is typically paid for you in some shape or form. It also benefits you to be a family member of a veteran as the benefits get handed down to you. AMVETS National Service Foundation Scholarship is available for the children or grandchildren of veterans of the military alive or deceased. They offer $1,000 a year for undergraduate programs and other training. There are also a number of grants available to veterans when they return home from service. The Pension for Non-Service Connected Disability for Veterans is available for veterans who are now disabled and have served their country for at least 90 days. This is extremely helpful to our wounded soldiers who come home with limited employment options.
When veterans come home from serving, they may be interested in a specific field of study. If Liberal Arts is something they are interested in there are a number of opportunities available for those soldiers. A Liberal Arts colleges is a little bit different than attending a typical university. A liberal arts college is more student-focused with less lecturing and Master’s degree programs. A liberal arts-based school would be more focused on a student on the undergraduate level and not so much at the graduate. It would focus on more self-motivation and intellectual curiosity for the long-term. The work can be extremely challenging, but it is always more rewarding to attend a college that focuses on your needs and not on the needs of the masses.
Williams College in Williamstown, MA is an excellent private college that focuses their studies on the liberal arts sector. With small classrooms and less lecturing, this is the perfect school for the liberal arts-minded student. Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA is a private college that also focuses on liberal arts. They have more than 1,000 course options available for students and is a private college.
There are a number of great opportunities for our veterans when they come home from serving our country. It is amazing what they do for us and this is the least we can do for them in return.
